This one comes up a lot –

Think of it like this, the 20 lbs are a symptom of “something”, the root issue. Sure, you can “lose” the 20 lbs (temporarily), but as soon as the root of the symptom is triggered or activated, you’ll gain them back, if not more.

That’s why we work from the inside out, uncovering the root issues and dealing with them. Y

 

Intuitive eating is essentially, learning to listen and feel what your body is requiring.

A big aspect of learning to eat intuitively, is what I call deconstructing our emotional – physical entanglement.

When we can differentiate what we want emotionally and what our body requires physically, it’s really a game changer. 

With that, when we learn to listen to and feel hunger, to listen to and feel fullness.

When you get a seemingly “random” thought about or craving for broccoli, that’s your body saying “Hey, my current state is requiring some greens.”

Just like if you have a seemingly “random” craving for meat, that’s your body saying “Hey, my current state is requiring some protein.”

Another aspect of intuitive eating is overcoming the diet culture, the limiting or not allowing yourself to eat certain things.

The truth is, our bodies require a little bit of everything.

Did you know that if you cut carbs, your brain won’t function correctly? Our brains require carbs.

Did you know that our bodies derive energy from fat? So if you cut fat from your daily intake, what do you think will happen?

This is a topic that came up a while back around the use of “need, want and require”.

Want is when we’d like to have something, or when we’d like for something to happen but we know we’ll be ok if it doesn’t, like maybe something better for us is coming along.

Need, on the other hand, is when you think you won’t survive without it. Or when we’re looking to something.

Require is when we must have something in order to function. Ex. Trucks require fuel. Our bodies require water and food, animals require food and water.
